I’ve been watching you site for at least a year waiting for the right ’74 to show up. I’d been looking mainly for an Omega/Longines dress watch but I’m a big fan of vintage Seiko as well. When I saw this watch pop up on your site–with its unusual movement and in absolutely mint condition–I knew this was the one. Sure, EL-370s can be had on eBay for less, but you found a gem that was worth every penny! And after 43-years of being who knows where, barely being worn, and therefore probably never being serviced, I’m happy to see that it’s running strongly and fairly accurate.

The KISS principle of Keep It Simple, Stupid, definitely applies to this 1972 Seiko. Hand wound with no date, it is a simple piece but it works well in both design and mechanically.![]()

A solid silver case made by.... Omega! Lanco and Omega were both part of the SIHH group, and when Lanco decided to make a solid silver watch they asked their sister company to make the cases, as Omega (OWC) were already producing them for the Jeux d'Argent models. A cheapy this morning, but this Edox is still a good looker. The striped blue dial is attractive, and the white hands very legible, and it has a good Peseux movement inside.![]()

How pretty is the dial on this 1958 Longines? The pattern is called clous de Paris, and the added depth is very attractive. This was a US market watch, so the case is 10k gold filled (not plated) and the movement also saw upgrades - even thought the customer would never see them!![]()
