Number one of just fifty ever made, this Swiss Thomas Earnshaw has a Dalmatine Jasper dial surround that means each will be unique. Model reference ES-0027-05.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We have found an article in an industry magazine dated from 2014 showing a slightly different model with a different stone dial surround. It is highly likely that the models were available at the same time.
CONDITION
Thomas Earnshaw was a highly respected maker of watches and ships chronometers in the 18th century, but the modern company has no ;inks with the great man to my knowledge. However, they have made an interesting watch here. The dial itself looks to be mother of pearl, and then the jasper outer dial is very eyecatching. There are no cracks in the stone. You also see that this watch has no crown – it is back set using a cocktail stick to advance the hands. The small movement is all that is needed to power the two hands, and is sits behind a heavy case back that is nicely decorated. The recommended price of this watch was reported in 2014 to be €775. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. It is extra special in being number 1 of 50, and that is shown on the screwed on case back. The leather strap is is the original Earnshaw one and could be swapped for a new strap if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, buckle and strap.
