In almost new old stock condition, this Dunhill Millennium Diver in green is a rare find indeed. Model reference 67 OPSM.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The Millennium range was launched by Dunhill in 1984, and in 1987 a divers model followed. In 1992 that was updated to the design we have here. With no further evidence available we can say this watch can’t be older than 1992.
CONDITION
When you find the case back sticker still on place, that is always a good sign that this watch has barely been worn. The gold block printing on the inside of the strap hasn’t worn off either. Being really picky the claps has a tiny mark, the case back screws are not perfect, and the original shark skin strap has one hole with a small split. Otherwise everything else is like new. The movement is signed Dunhill, but is a pretty universal ETA 955.412 quartz watch with quick set date and end of life indication. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The sapphire crystal is not marked, and the bezel rotates as it should. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, folding clasp and strap – the helix crystal is original too but they were never signed. We have seen some sellers claim the gold on this watch is 18k solid gold, but we haven’t seen anything definitive for that so we will presume it is gold plated. Even on more worn examples though we haven’t found any with wear through any plating.
