Bucherer is one of Switzerland’s top jewellers, and this ladies square watch may well be unworn. Model reference 2031.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
With few other ways to date this watch, we know the movement started production in 1955, With Bucherer being around since 1888, 1955 is the earliest this watch could have been made.
CONDITION
Bucherer have such a fine history that they have recently been bought by Rolex – the first time Rolex has ever gone into retail. The rumours were that Carl F. Bucherer watches lost money on every one sold, and since the takeover that line has stopped. This ladies Bucherer is from a much earlier period, but the quality demanded is still there. The movement is stamped for Bucherer, and is an ETA 2412 manual wind with 17 jewel. However in most watches it would not have been adjusted to three positions, like this one was. That takes time and quality, and those factors cost money in production. The black hands against the silver dial are very legible, even in the correct for period smaller case size. The Bucherer branded leather strap is like new. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and strap.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
