A dressy 333ft divers watch from Caravelle, by Bulova. Complete with box and papers and looking unworn.

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1976.

You would say that this watch has never been worn. I would also say this is not a watch for serious divers, despite the 333ft rating. Both hands and dial are lumed with Tritium, but not to a level that would make underwater reading easy. The gold dial doesn’t provide the contrast needed either in the deep, and the bezel is not unidirectional either – it turns either way. For a 333ft depth rating I would also expect the crown to screw down, which this doesn’t. But if we accept that it was never designed to get too wet, and you should not get a vintage watch wet anyway, we are left with an attractive watch in great condition. The fact that the papers are not filled in, along with the condition, might even make this new old stock (NOS). The dark red/brown bezel is faultless. The rubber strap may be original – the buckle isn’t signed. Along with the watch is the Caravelle by Bulova case, instructions, blank service warranty and the hang tag.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
