A Vostok Komandirskie Desert Storm men’s watch – how often will you see the Stars and Stripes on a USSR watch?

Operation Desert Storm ran from August 1990 to February 1991, so this watch can not date from before August 1990. The USSR disbanded at the end of 1991, so in all probability this watch was made in 1991.

This is known as the Junior version, and there is a larger chrome version available too. As this one stands, it has a dark golden colour across the case and rotating bezel, which is even and in good order. The bezel revolves either way without clicking. The acrylic crystal is and without any deep scratches. The dial is clean and clear, and all the lume pips remain in place. These Vostock watches have a wobbly crown – it feels weird at first, but it is normal. Please see the video to see what we mean. Fitted with a new leather strap.

38.5mm wide including the crown, 10.9mm thick. Takes an 18mm strap.
