Glycine Dienstuhr Heer German issued Wehrmacht watches were issued to soldiers serving in Germany’s armies.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back marked DH we can accurately date this watch to being issued during WW2. Many companies were making watches for the Germans, including IWC, Zenith and Longines to meet demands post 1942, when demand outstripped the ability of Germany to make sufficient watches. These were stamped with D and H on the serial number.
CONDITION
A reliable watch is a must for any soldier – no point synchronising watches if the watch ran fast or slow, as that could be the difference between surviving or not. The AS1130 movement was perfect for the needs of the soldier, but you also have other military aspects such as the fixed lugs (so if a bar broke during combat the watch would still be held on the strap.) The chromed case isn’t bad, with minimal wear. The dial is very good and looks all original. The NATO style strap has brushed metal, where polished might suit better, but the strap could be swapped for a different colour easily.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
