A solid gold Zenith watch to reward long service from a time when this practice had all but stopped. Model reference 33.2750.116L

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the presentation engraving on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being gifted in 1996.

CONDITION

It used to be almost standard practice to give an employee a gold watch to mark long service in the UK in the 1950’s and 1960’s. But in the 1970’s the cost of gold quadrupled, and some companies shirked at the extra cost (to their shame – the employee usually worked for them for 25 years and deserved reward!) But Albright & Wilson did the right thing and we are sure S. D. Gittens would have been delighted with his new watch. The watch has signs of being worn, such as minor marks on the case. The glass is scratch and chip free. Inside is an ETA quartz movement with quick set date that is all working well. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with an original Zenith presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
