Seiko never marketed the Credor range outside of Japan for several years, so ultra thin watches like this one are not easy to find. Model reference 5A74-5040.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in September 1984.
CONDITION
Any ultra thin watch should have a total thickness of under 5 mm. Until watch watches got small enough, very few manufacturers could achieve this and you would have had to pay very handsomely for those watches that were available. Even with quartz technology it is still difficult to do, but Seiko with their Credo sub brand smashed it with this watch. The watch is time only, and instead of complications the watch has details, such as the fume dial and fancy crystal. The dial has applied stick markers, and the Credor logo applied at 12, whereas some ultra thin watches have painted dials to squeeze that extra 0.2mm of room. Inside you see the inside of the case back is also engine finished, and the movement is all metal Seiko 5A74A, branded for Credor. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement. The crown has a cabochon polished stone set into it, which is not chipped or cracked.
This watch will be supplied with our branded and reusable zipped travel case and cleaning cloth, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
