Fitted with the slim calibre 711 automatic movement, this Omega De Ville is a very tasteful dress watch.  Model reference 161.0021.

From the serial number hallmark on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1965.

The Omega De Ville line were, and still are, less sporty than the Seamaster models.  So in order to make them slim like a dress watch should be, Omega rarely made the cases waterproof, or added complications like a calendar.  In this watch the only added feature is a seconds hand, sticking to the dress watch rules of simple is better.  The square case is all stainless steel and signed for Omega on the inside on the case back.  The crown and the crystal are both original, signed with the Ω logo.  The dial is also unrestored, but does show a little patina around the edges.  The lower case writing on the word ‘automatic’ wasn’t used for long, but you can see the same model on Omega’s own website here with the same dial (albeit the case on their watch is 18k gold).  The movement is the 24 jewel, slim Omega calibre 711 and it is working well.  The strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.  The buckle appears to a be a later reproduction buckle and not an original.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon.  By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
