Kered badged engineered a Seiko watch to sell via their network, which makes this more interesting. Model reference 6602-1990
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in August 1964.
CONDITION
Kered was a watch brand sold by a Hatton Garden watch wholesaler called Louis Braham in the 1950’s and 1960’s. He sold watches to jewellers, not to the public. Louis Braham’s son was called Derrick Braham. Braham sold watches branded as “Derrick B”. This may have been too close to another brand called “Derrick”, so my thought is that Braham decided to still use his son’s name by reversing the name in the simpler spelling of Derek; hence Kered.
Behind the name on the dial the watch is pure Seiko Diashock, which is no bad thing. Kered used a variety of suppliers, some better than others, but the Seiko ones are possibly the best. The hand winding calibre 957 movement is working well, and the semi quick set date is functioning correctly too. There is some wear to the gold plating, but not too severe. The dial is overall good, but with some small marks. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
