With a gold case and a calibre 340 movement, this men’s Longines Flagship will grace any wrist. Model reference 3403.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1961.
CONDITION
The movement is quite unusual. Longines developed calibre 340 to be slimmer than a standard automatic movement, so the rotor that winds the watch is not an afterthought but incorporated into the movement. It is offcentre, and the gearing is around the outside, and like all Longines of this period it is beautifully finished. The case is assayed for 9k gold, and is in good shape. There are versions of this Flagship watch with the ‘big ship’ engraved caseback which do sell for more money, but this has the plain case back. The dial has some marks, most noticeably a small scratch to the left of the Longines logo. There are also marks at 6 that seem to disappear depending on the angle – watching the video will explain that better. This is why this Flagship model is significantly cheaper than the last one we sold. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. It has the Longines buckle fitted.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
