A cheeky homage, this Technos doesn’t hide where the design inspiration came from – the Patek Philippe Nautilus. Model reference T9556.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Very little evidence is available for this to be reliably dated, but it is quite modern. As this is unlikely to be a birth year watch for someone, we have just had an educated estimate at the year.
CONDITION
A homage is a design that is clearly inspired – or to some extent copied – from a design classic but does not try and pass itself of as the original. But a Nautilus 5711/1R will cost you over £125,000, which not everyone wants to spend, which creates a gap in the market for something that looks similar but for less. The Patek is by far the better watch in every way, but the Technos isn’t bad either. You get a solid link bracelet, screw down case back (this one does have a slip mark on it), it was 50m water resistant and the dial is nicely finished for the price. Inside you have a reliable Japanese quartz movement from Miyota, with quick set date. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The rose gold plating on both the case and bracelet is in good shape too. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, and one extra link is included too. The watch is signed on the dial, case and clasp.
This watch will be supplied with our branded and reusable zipped travel case and cleaning cloth, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
