HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Corum make very few of any particular model, so researching them can be difficult. Annual production is only about 16,000 watches (Patek Philippe is treble that, Rolex circa 1,000,000 per year), so we have been very lucky to find the 38mm model with the same dial and bracelet available from a different seller with papers stamped for 2015. The earliest reference for the Legend series we can find is from 2012, so this watch being made circa 2015 fits with everything we know.
CONDITION
This is a high quality watch that you will likely never see another one on someone else’s wrist. Corum have been making high end watches since 1955, and the Admirals Cup dials are often covered with flags, hinting at the sailing connection. Instead of printing flags this model has indices set with 12 diamonds – 0.1 ct (VS / D to H full cut) on the mother of pearl dial, which is also printed with sectors. The case and bracelet are all stainless steel and feel very well made, and the caseback has the Corum key logo inset with 18k gold. The movement is a set and forget quartz, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, but has had a repair in the past – the screws are really tightly fixed and we can not adjust the length, so the bracelet is being provided for free and we will send this watch on a leather strap in a colour of your choice. This model was also available in 38 and 42 mm cases, and this 32 model on a leather strap had a RRP of £1,890
