HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We are very grateful to this website for filling us in on the (many) blanks in our knowledge of this brand. Given that this brand was discontinued in 1999, and the paperwork is printed in 1998, this has to be one of the last watches. Maybe, with no new models coming into the jewellers, that this is the reason it was never sold?
CONDITION
The watch is unworn, and you can’t really get better than that! We have fitted a new battery and the movement immediately jumped into life, and the previous battery showed no signs of leakage. This watch, as it was made after 1993, was made by Mondiane who are more famous for their Swiss railroad watch. The case is stainless steel, the signed band is leather and the metal hangtag still attached to the signed buckle. The bezel has some dirt, or whether this was original faux patina we can not be certain as the bezel timezones are related to more adventurous places than a standard GMT bezel – for example Kinshasa instead of Paris. The bezel is fixed, and the timezones are not in 1 hour jumps either. The paperwork is not filled out, as this watch wasn’t ever sold. The box has some superficial damage. The dial is very clean and the lume still is bright.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, blank papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
