This circa 1994 Omega De Ville dress watch is ideal for someone who prefers a smaller size watch, but still wants a high end Swiss brand watch. Model reference 396.1016.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in either 1993 or 1994, as the 54 million serial covers both years. This serial is 54.6 million, so over half way, and more likely to have been made in 1994.
CONDITION
In the late 1990’s and 2000’s, watches got massive. 45mm cases were quite normal, so this range from Omega dated quite quickly. However, tastes have changed again, and smaller and more comfortable watches are back in vogue. Although this was originally a men’s design, it is still quite small and unisex is probably a better description. The case is also very slim, making it slip under a shirt cuff with ease. The case has various small marks, as it has not been polished. Inside is an ETA quartz movement, branded for Omega (spot the mistake in the video!). We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The dial and hands are very clean, and the date can be quick set. The bracelet has been shortened but our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, crown and clasp.
