This Longines Conquest VHP (Very High Precision) is all original and is a great grab and go watch. Model reference 4994 2.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Longines introduced the VHP range in 1984, with a highly accurate thermocompensated movement. The watch we have here has a slightly later design, with the extra functionality of the rapid hour change. This was also known as the Omega 1441, and was only used between 1988 and 1989.
CONDITION
In the eighties it was the norm to buy a quartz powered watch, with even companies with the history of Zenith were only making quartz watches. In order to stand out Longines introduced the VHP range, for those customers who demanded the most precise timekeeping. So this watch was a premium product as it had the edge over the competition. The case and bracelet is good, but the case back is missing an emblem from the centre. The L174.2 movement is all working correctly, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet has been shortened in the past, but our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
