HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can date this watch to being made circa 1983. The serial number range for this straddles 1982 and 1983, and this is over half of what the possibilities could be.
CONDITION
This watch has Omega’s calibre 1336 quartz movement inside, and it is from a time before Omega started using generic quartz ETA movements. So the movement has all metal bridges, polished with Côtes de Genève striping, which you just do not see in their later watches when costs were being overseen quite carefully. The other quirk or extravagance this has is a pusher at 2 to stop or advance the seconds hand, for precise time setting. And precise is exactly the correct description – we have adjusted this watch via the trimmer to record absolutely perfect timekeeping of 0.0 seconds discrepancy per month! We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The case is unpolished so will show some light marks, and the glass on this watch does have multiple scratches. The bracelet has been shortened in the past and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. Please check the bracelet will fit your wrist before ordering, as we can not fit a leather strap to this case design. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and clasp.
