HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The movement use din this watch is stamped for FHF and ESA, which means it was made before the companies merged into ETA in the mid eighties. With the lack of other evidence, we are presuming this watch was made circa 1980.
CONDITION
Borozon is a very hard material, most used in high end engineering but this Technos has used it for the bezel. This is similar in looks and feel to Tungsten, and likely just as difficult to work with, but has amazing scratch resistant qualities. This is demonstrated clearly in this example, and we suspect the flat, scratch free glass is likely sapphire. The part of the watch that hold the movement and lugs is stainless steel, so that helps reduce the risks that a very hard material might be more brittle. The dial is a very dark brown, and this is complimented by the honey gold colour of Borazon. A cabochon polished blue stone is set into the crown. The movement is a 6 jewel Swiss quartz, which is all working well including the quick set date. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is full length and adjusted without the need for special tools, via the sliding clasp. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
