A chunky Mido Ocean Star, with long stainless steel integrated bracelet fitted to an unusual but comfortable case design.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the production date of the movement we can date this watch to being made circa 1979.
CONDITION
The Mido Ocean Star range was first introduced in 1959, and continues to this day. They used Mido’s patented waterproof case design, which is why so many still look good today. This version is powered by a quartz movement, calibre ETA 254.121 which is branded for Mido, and includes a trimmer that early quartz watches used – quartz movements was only introduced late in 1969, and by the mid seventies they were the most popular way to power a watch. The quick set day is in French and German, and the date also quick sets. When buying any watch with an integrated bracelet it is important to get a long bracelet, and this is long enough to fit most wrists and can be adjusted without the need for special tools. The glass is scratched, and a new glass would need to be custom made at a cost of £30. We can have this done for you if you require it.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
