HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The production of these watches is subject to some mystery, but we think this watch was likely to have been made circa 1976.
CONDITION
The case for use of left over Omega stock is quite strong. Gold plated watches were often marked with the Omega symbol next to the micron thickness. Often the crystal has the Omega logo in the centre (not on our example). But when looking carefully on our watch you can see the slight impression of the Omega logo on the crown, that has been machined off to disguise the origins. This watch almost certainly was intended to be an Omega Seamaster f300 model number 368.0821 – see Omega’s website for this model and compare the differences. The movement is the ESA 9162 in both, but this is not unique to Omega – We have had Longines, IWC, Movado and others with the same high quality movement. What Titus have done is add a particularly nice dial with a tapisserie pattern, and this is provides interesting but subtle colour changes. The dial is all silver, and very clean, but in some photos a yellow tinge can be seen – this is a trick of the light and doesn’t exist. The case is unpolished and the edges very crisp, with very slight dings that you need a fingernail to feel more than really see with the naked eye. The bracelet is long and does have signs it has been worn, but that is all to be expected. This is a very wearable watch.
