This funky jump hour from Josmar really is quite striking and will provide many smiles without spending much money.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
It isn’t possible to date this completely accurately, but looking at what watches were launched at Basel in 1972, 1973 and 1974 it is likely that this was was launched around the same time.
CONDITION
This was never a high end watch. It has a chromed case, and simple pin pallet movement, but nearly fifty years on and it is working well and still looks good. The movement is a proper jump hour, stamped Chancellor but a Baumgartner 582 design. Some mechanical digital watches just drag the hour disc round, so it is only aligned in the hour. This is much better, and the constant seconds hand (in very 70’s orange) is a nice pop of colour too. The case does have some marks, and it is easy to see why – it is a larger watch on the wrist, so easier to knock. But it is all working well and is about as 1970’s as you can get (so ideal for period film or TV work too). The blue leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
