This large ladies Lanco is New Old Stock, (NOS), unworn and with a manual wind movement. Model reference 24293.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We do not have any documentation to indicate when this watch was made, but the movement used inside it was launched in 1970 so it has to be made after that. Later versions of this movement have an N suffix, which this one doesn’t have. We have searched the Basel yearbook, but that only starts from 1972 and this watch doesn’t appear in that. So we are happy to say this watch was likely made circa 1971.
CONDITION
At this period of time Lanco were part of the SIHH group, with the other two companies involved being Tissot and Omega. On some watches the companies cooperated but there is no evidence of that with this example. The movement is the FHF 69-21, a manual wind seventeen jewel calibre that is working well and has basic decoration. The case is 10 micron gold plated and in great condition – there may be very light marks from storage but the watch is 50+ years old. The glass does has a slight mark near 2. The brown dial with fade looks great and the gold hands suit perfectly. The wide, tapered strap is looks to be original.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
