This cushion cased Technos Borazon VI is a very distinctive automatic model that we have never seen before. Model reference 2632.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
There is little information about this model we could find online or in our books, but the movement used in this watch was introduced in 1970 so the watch can not be older than that. This also fits with the similar scratch proof watches from Rado and IWC were selling at the same time.
CONDITION
Borozon is a very hard material, most used in high end engineering but this Technos Mk VI has used it for the case. This is similar in looks and feel to Tungsten, and likely just as difficult to work with, but has amazing scratch resistant qualities. This is demonstrated clearly in this example, and we suspect the faceted scratch free glass is likely sapphire. Behind that faceted crystal is a purple dial and gold had set and hour markers – very 1970’s! The signed crown is also golden. The movement is an ETA 2632, and automatic 25 jewel calibre that has quick set date and nicely finished and signed for Technos. The screw down case back has some pitting but it isn’t bad. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and crown.
