HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Cimier were first registered in 1928, but from the movement production dates we think this was dates from circa 1970.
CONDITION
This is what is best described as an entry level chronograph, providing the form and function of a more expensive watch for an appealing price. Why do we say that? Well unlike more expensive watches this watch has a chromed case instead of stainless steel , and the movement is pin pallet rather than a jewelled Swiss lever. Is something like a Breitling Top Time a better quality watch? Yes, but it is also multiples of the price of this Cimier. The movement is interesting in this though. It is a seven jewel Rego 2370, manual wind chronograph movement that has an 80 minute timer instead of the more normal 30, 45 or 60 minute scales. Why 80 minutes? Maybe for Rugby? The bracelet resembles the Tissot Rally style but is far more flexible, and it has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. It could be swapped for a leather strap if preferred. The case is in excellent shape, showing no wear to the chrome at all. The dial is good, as are the hands and crystal, and everything is working as it should.
