An individual take on the divers watch from Le Cheminant, called the Master Mariner and was originally waterproof to 150M/450 ft
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
While Le Cheminant watches can not be reliably dated via things like serial numbers, we do have an advert from 1967 for an earlier model with much the same dial and hands. The case number on the screw down case back starts 69, which may have been a clue but also fits with what else we know, such as movement production dates.
CONDITION
The hands and exaggerated lume plots on the dial are very nice, and make this stand out from the average divers watch. It may be that the lume on the hands has been renewed at some point in the past, as it is brighter than the dial lume. The black part of the dial does have patina and a couple of marks, but that show how suits the watch. The dial also states this has a 21 jewel automatic movement, but instead we find a Felsa 4007N 25 jewel automatic. This is not the first time we have found upgraded movements fitted in Le Cheminant watches, and they probably had a batch of dials printed and then the movement specification changed. Because this is an upgrade from what is on the dial it does not break the law – in 1962 it became illegal to over quote the number of working jewels in a watch movement. The case is stainless steel and the bezel does move – just- but is extremely stiff. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
