One of the oldest brands in watchmaking, Jules Jürgensen, are now back in business but unaffordable to most people – unless you go vintage.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
One of the oldest brands in watchmaking, Jules Jürgensen was founded in 1740 but stopped making their own watches in 1957. After that date various companies made the watches under license, until in 2014 it was returned to Danish ownership (and now make uber high end watches!) From the production date of the movement in this watch we think this was made circa 1965.
CONDITION
14k watches are normally intended for the US market, and we suspect this watch will have been no exception. White gold watches are always rarer than yellow gold, and currently more popular. Inside the monoblock case (sometimes called a top loader) lies a Jules Jürgensen branded Peseux 330 manual wind movement, which is ticking away nicely. Using Peseux movements is always a good way of making a slim watch without the expense of developing your own thin movements. The dial is excellent, with nice details such as the hour markers on the quarters. The leather strap is new with an unbranded chromed buckle, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
