Movado were famous pioneers in fitting calendar mechanisms into their movements, just like on this Calendoplan.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The Calendoplan name was registered by Movado in 1948, but this calibre of movement was in production between 1950 and 1965. We have been unable to find a period advert that might narrow done the date further, so we have picked a mid year.
CONDITION
The modern incarnation of Movado have a range of Calendoplan models within their Heritage line up. They are similar money to this watch, except they are quartz powered. You could buy the modern version, or the original…
This is in good condition for the age of the watch, and at 34mm not too small to wear daily. The dial is all original and with just a few marks. The arrowhead hour markers are bevel to reflect the light, which is a nice touch. The 20 micron gold plated case is holding up very well, with just some wear showing though on the lugs. The hand winding movement is Movado’s own calibre 128, which is running nicely. The button at 4 allows you advance the date by one if you press it using a pen or cocktail stick. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
