This Grand Seiko Elegance was only available in Europe, and has a dial inspired by Yukage, or the light at dusk. Model reference SBGW269.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in June 2021, and the warranty card from Grand Seiko of Brompton Road, London, shows it was sold in October 2021. The serial number on the card matches the serial number on the watch. It cost £4,150 in 2021, as we have the original sales receipt too.
CONDITION
Everyone knows that Grand Seiko do some of the very best dials in the entire watchmaking business, and the inspiration often comes from nature. You can read about the design choices on the GS website here for this model. The dial on this watch has a very slight texture to it, something we can best show on our 43x microscope image. The Elegance model is naturally smaller than the sports range, and has a box sapphire crystal to show off the dial. The exhibition case back is a great way to see the manual wind movement, which is of course beautifully finished. The 24 jewel movement has a power reserve of three days. The watch has been worn, but seemingly sparingly, and it is difficult to fault the condition. The leather strap is the original and has plenty of life left in it. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, buckle and strap.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation boxes, papers including the receipt, warranty card, instructions and GS certificate of inspection, and our Certificate of Authenticity. We even have and will include the sleeve for the outer box that the retailer was supposed to remove!
This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
