This Seiko, model number 5M43-0A70, uses body movement to charge the capacitor, hence the name Kinetic.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in August 1995.

CONDITION

There are slight marks on the bracelet and clasp from where this has been worn, but not many and they are not serious.  The gold plating on the bracelet and bezel is all undamaged and very good.  The dial is superb, and the lume still glows brightly.  The case and bracelet are stainless steel with plated accents, and the bracelet is solid links and feels a million miles better than Seiko bracelets of old.  The bracelet is also full sized with no missing links.  The glass has a couple of light marks.  The 5M43 movement is running well, but we will fit a new capacitor before this is sent out which should see this right for the next ten years.  These Kinetic watches do need to be regularly worn or kept on a watch winder to keep the charge up, and you can test the charge by pressing the pusher at 2 when the second hand hits twelve – please see the video to see this in action.  The distinctive case design works well on the wrist, and is similar to the Seiko Starfish divers models, but on the 5M43-0A70 the bezel is fixed.  The day and date both have a quickset facility, and the day wheel is in both French and English.  Like almost all Seiko day date models, the weekdays are in black font, Saturday is blue and Sunday has a red font.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
