HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the production date stamp on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in the second quarter of 1993.
CONDITION
The TAG Heuer 6000 was their top of the range model for a decade. Designed by Jörg Hysek – the man who also designed the Kirium, the Vacheron 222 and Breguet Marine among others before setting up his own company, it sold well. It was available in a variety of metals, including 18k gold and even platinum, and with a wide choice of movements. The one we have here is more of the entry level model, having a quartz movement and stainless steel case, but is is a good example. The white dial is clean, and the sapphire crystal unmarked. The movement is a TAG Heuer branded ETA 7 jewel calibre that is all working well, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The sixty click unidirectional bezel is firm, but does turn. The leather strap is used but the original TAG Heuer one intended for this model. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, buckle and strap.
