HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the engraving on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being presented in 1987.
CONDITION
Mappin & Webb are a London based jewellers first established in 1775, and have held a Royal warrant to every monarch since Queen Victoria. This watch is from their own range and their current range is here. Prices for men’s watches start at £850, in stainless steel.
This watch was a presentation piece to G.R. Clark for long service to the British Railways Board, and as with many presentation watches does not appear to have worn much. Having worked for normally 25 years or more to get a gold watch you saved it for best!. The case has no dings or deep scratches, and both the cream dial and acrylic crystal are good. The ETA quartz movement is working well, and we have fitted a new battery. The calendar has the quick set feature, and we have also fitted a new leather strap.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
