This Seiko Majesta has a twist – a dial made specifically for Yanmar Diesel company employees who made it to 25 years. Model reference 9063-6000.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in October 1984. We have also found the standard model in the 1984 catalogue, at ¥45,000. Accordingly to our translation the inscription on the case back doesn’t give a name or date.
CONDITION
Yanmar were founded in 1912 and are still going strong, making a wide range of products including marine engines. We don;t know how many employees they had reaching a 25 year milestone, but they must have had a few to be able to persuade Seiko to make them a specific watch dial. At first you don’t even read the words, the dial looks like it has a speckled pattern, then the words become clear. It’s a good look. The rest of the watch is a standard Majesta, which was a higher than average model. You have quick set day and date, and the day can be set in English or Kanji. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is full length and has a sliding clasp, so can be adjusted tot your wrist without the need for special tools. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and clasp.
