A stereotypical men’s watch design from 1984, but this Omega De Ville just does it better than most – including having an ultrathin case. Model reference 395.0819.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1984.
CONDITION
At first look, this De Ville looks like an Omega Constellation. The bracelet is very similar to the one used in the 1982 Constellation Manhattan, but at this point in history Omega were raiding the parts bin to save costs wherever they could during the quartz crisis. However, this bracelet uses screws instead of pins so it may be bespoke to this model. Inside the ultrathin case you find the Omega 1365 movement, an in house design that is set via a pusher set into the side of the watch instead of a crown. You access the movement via the front, having undone the four nuts that hold the 20 micron gold plated bezel on. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The dial has an almost reptile skin pattern on it, and is in good order. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has various signs of wear, mainly near the watch head itself. While the wear isn’t immediately obvious, it is there but the bracelet still feels solid. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, crystal, clasp, buckle and strap.
