HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the stamp on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in July 1982.

CONDITION

Hamilton field watches have been used by the US military for a long time, from 1917 to be more precise.  These clear, rugged and easy to maintain watches lead to the ever popular Khaki models available to civilian buyers too. (and helps explain the Khaki name, when the watches have black dials!)  This is the seven jewel manual wind version, with the distinct H3 (for Tritium) and radiation symbol on the dial.  Whilst Tritium is radioactive, it has a half life of only 12.7 years, so after 40+ years it doesn’t trigger a geiger counter anymore.   The dial is clear, bu theire are some marks in the acrylic crystal and a dink to the left hand side of the case.  The nylon one piece strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.  Military watches tend to use one piece straps and fixed bars for extra strength – neither the strap nor a even a snapped bar would make you lose the watch.  The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
