A Seiko LCD stopwatch from the digital age, is this a flashback to your sporting past? Model reference S023-5000.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in December 1979. The model didn’t appear in the 1979 catalogue, but did show in the 1980 catalogue.
CONDITION
Whilst there is no doubting this is primarily an LCD stopwatch, it has other functions too that a conventional stopwatch doesn’t have. With a press of the MODE button, bottom left, you can tell the time. Press the top left button and it will display the date, including the day of the week and month. A second press of the MODE button takes you back to the stopwatch, which measures to 1/100ths of a second. All is working, and cosmetically this is in good condition, with the worst marks being on the string (which doesn’t look to be the original). We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
