We rarely use the word stunning, but this Type II Seiko deserves it for one reason alone – that green dial! Model reference 7123-8100
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in October 1978.
CONDITION
Just watch the video and you will want this watch for the dial alone. It is tempting to leave the rest of the condition report blank, but we will of course tell you everything. The worst bit is the bracelet is not the original when we compare it to the catalogue picture, although it is still a Seiko bracelet and is not a bad match. It is however short and even with the bracelet extender fitted will not fit all wrists. You could however swap the bracelet altogether for a leather strap and no one would notice – they are still looking at the dial! Everything is working as it should, and it should also be remembered that the Type II was not a cheap watch in its day – This cost ¥1,000 more than an automatic Bullhead 6138 Seiko chronograph in 1978.
