HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in February 1977.
CONDITION
The textured finish of the case is unusual, and the matte effect it gives is a nice design feature. The case sides do have marks and scratches, but because of the patterning they do not stand out like they would on a smooth polished surface. Also patterned is the dial, to match the case, and the dial also has nice hockey stick hour markers to add depth. Most of the King Quartz range at this time had day and date, but this only has the date window, and it can be quick set via the crown. The movement is running very well indeed, at plus 5.5 seconds fast per month (or +0.39 of a single second per day). We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet is not the original and not by Seiko, but is quite long and has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement.
This watch will be supplied with our branded and reusable zipped travel case and cleaning cloth, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
