This full hunter Bulova pocket watch has the acclaimed Accutron electronic movement – a rare combination. Model reference 7933.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the inside of the case back and on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1977.
CONDITION
This is an unusual combination of a full hunter pocket watch, combined with an electronic hummer movement. This watch doesn’t use quartz but a tuning fork to regulate the timekeeping. This was a Bulova patent, and was used in watches from IWC, Longines, Omega and many others – there was even an Accutron clock fitted to the lunar module on the Apollo space program. This version has both day and date, and the date can be quickset too. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. To open the case you press the button set into the crown, and watch as it springs open – the full hunter designation refers to much earlier watches of the same design that had the case like this in order to protect the glass when out hunting. Inside the hunter case is a personal engraving, nicely done with sweet sentiment. The gold dial is in very nice condition, as is the rest of the watch. The 12″ chain may be original, but we are not sure – the only other model like this we found no longer had a chain fitted. The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement.
