These electronic Omega f300 models are also known as hummers, thanks to the distinct noise the tuning fork makes. This is reference number 198.031.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1973. The watch model was introduced in 1972 according to Omega’s own website.
CONDITION
Omega f300 watches use much of the Bulova technology from their hummers, so much so that the inside of the case back acknowledges Bulova’s patents. It is clearly a case of ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’. The Omega 1260 / ESA9164 12 jewel movement is working perfectly, including the day and date calendar than can sometime be an issue. The dial is very good, and the crystal is an Omega original one. The case is free from significant scratches, and overall this is a very nice example. The 19 mm leather strap is new.
