If you wanted to list what features most collectors would want in a 1964 Omega dress watch they would probably come up with this watch – stainless steel 34mm case, clean original dial and a copper 601 caliber movement.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the in house movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1964.
CONDITION
The explorer layout dial is so good we had to really examine the watch closely to make sure it was original, and we are convinced it is correct. The dial features applied markers at 12, 3, 6 and 19 as well as the applied logo that Omega dropped on most models in the late sixties. The C601 movement is working well, and the only real negatives on the watch are some marks to the second hand and the case back has been polished to remove tool slip marks probably (this has a clip on case back.) The stainless steel case is unpolished, with the chamfered lugs clearly defined.
We have fitted a variety of different straps to show how different the same watch can look. Subject to availability you could choose any of these. We recognise the mustard strap we eventually chose won’t be for everyone, but we liked it!
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
