A solid gold Rotary men’s Swiss wristwatch from 1963 that has hooded lugs and a manual wind movement.  Complete with original box.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the London hall mark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1963.

CONDITION

This just seems like a lot of watch for the money.  The manual wind, 17 jewel AS1686 is running sweetly.  The incabloc mentioned on the dial is a shock protection system on the movement balance, for those that are unaware.  The two piece 9k gold case is stamped SD as the makers mark – that stands for Sylvain Dreyfuss, the importers of Rotary watches from about 1920 – as well as the clear hallmark.  There is a dent on the case back that is neither visible when the watch is being worn, nor does it affect the performance of the watch.  The hooded lug design of the case is distinctive, and the lugs are drilled too to make strap changes easier.  There are scuffs and scratches on the lug hoods.  The dial is very good.  The box hinges are broken.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
