A stainless steel men’s vintage Seiko watch from 1960, with a mechanical hand winding movement.  Model reference 66-9990.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in April 1960.

CONDITION

Seiko are always a popular choice for a birth year watch thanks to the combination of Japanese reliability, timeless style and their consistent serial number system to allow very accurate production dates.  This example also has a stainless steel case, so no concerns with plating wearing through.  This watch has been paired with a stainless steel bracelet too, which was not made by Seiko.  If you would prefer a leather strap this can be swapped at not extra charge, just mention it at checkout.  Inside the case is a manual wind Seiko calibre 66A movement, with seventeen jewels as it states on the dial.  This is running well.  The box is quite rare and valuable in itself, and shuts crisply.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
