An honest 1960 Oris men’s watch, complete with box and papers, and fitted with the Oris 391KIF manual wind 17 jewelled movement.

From the stamped original guarantee we know this watch was sold on 23rd December 1960.

It is wonderful to find a watch with the original box and papers from this time.  The cardboard box has some slight damage, but this has not been compounded by clumsy sellotape repairs.  The guarantee is stamped on the reverse by staff at H Samuels in York, England.  The watch itself isn’t perfect – their is pitting on the rear of the case, and the dial has two scratches near nine and some patina or dirt on it, but it is working well and the worn crown functions well enough.  The scratches may have been done when someone re lumed the main hands, as they still have some glow where the lume spots on the dial no longer glow.  We do currently have another Oris with box and papers, that one from 1963, but it is twice the price as it is in better condition.
