Fitted with the lovely IWC Calibre 89 movement, this calatrava style dress watch in a steel case should whet the appetite.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1954.
CONDITION
Calatrava is a term used for Patek Philippe dress watches, but it has been adopted by the watch collectors and used in a broader term to describe watches in this style (in much the same way a Tank watch is not just for Cartier anymore). This IWC has one of the nicest hand wound movements designed, calibre 89. It is a pleasure to wind and set, and the chantons enclosing some of the jewels are a feature you would struggle to find today on anything under £10,000. The dial could be original, and has some age related marks to it including a raised section around 4. The case is larger than the average 32-33mm average for the time, and labeled Staybrite (an early name for stainless steel). The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case and movement.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
