HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1952.

CONDITION

The original dial is superb and difficult to fault, something that is very hard to say about a watch from the 1950’s,  The stainless steel case unpolished, and has nice bevels over the lugs that still show with crisp edges.  This is an example of why you should not get cases polished – you lose these details with polishing.  The leaf shaped hands are straight and true, and all the hour markers or equally untarnished.  The crown may be a replacement, as it is not signed by Longines.  The movement is the Longines automatic calibre 22AS, which has a Breguet style hairsping and a patented excenter winding mechanism.  It is a shame it is hidden behind a steel case back, as the movement is beautifully finished.  It is running well too.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
