A very distinctive Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, with an oversized patterned bezel, that we have never been able to offer before.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1946.
CONDITION
Watches like this do no come around very often. To be able to find and offer a watch of this quality and this scarcity is something we are very proud of. The bezel is the main buying point here – extra wide, with fine details and hour markers stamped in it, combined with the wider than normal lugs, means this watch will stand out in any company. Inside you have the JLC calibre 426 movement, hand wound via the signed crown. The case is 34mm, which was large for the time, and appears to the gold filled – these it just a small part missing from the back of a lug, showing just how thick gold filled watches are. The dial is original and has patina, possibly caused by smoke, which has left an even finish. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and crown. Inside the case back is signed for just LeCoultre (no Jaeger), so this might have been a model only available in the USA.
This watch will be supplied with our branded and reusable zipped travel case and cleaning cloth, and our Certificate of Authenticity.
This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
