A nice Tissot pocket watch that was produced for civilian use during the second world war.  Complete with soft material case.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1942.

CONDITION

This Tissot pocket watch is a nice survivor from a period where not too many watches were made for general use, as the parts were required by the World’s armies. Inside the chromed case is the Tissot 43 movement, and it is ticking away very happily.  The dial is exceptionally good for a non waterproof watch for this period, and the watch came in a non branded material case that may in some way have protected the watch all these years.  The Breguet hands are blued and a very nice stylistic touch.  There are some marks to the edge of the case, particularly where the back opens, but once the back is off you then find the original dust cover in place – both the case back and the dust cover are stamped 501, so we know they are original.  Even the bow, the loop near the crown where a chain can be attached, is still stiff as it was when new.

This watch will be supplied with the material case the watch came in and our Certificate of Authenticity.
