This Dennison cased Waltham pocket watch combines English and American expertise.  Model reference 1899.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1904.

CONDITION

This was a high quality pocket watch when new, and remains so today.  The Star case was the best Denisson offered that wasn’t solid gold (they also offered Moon and Star cases that had lower karat gold plates and much shorter guarantees).  The English made case is a composition of two plates of 14k gold, with a middle filling of base metal.  So confident were they that this case wouldn’t show wear that it came with a 25 year guarantee when new, but this watch is showing some wear through the plating so it could have been in use much longer than ‘just’ until 1929!  Then the movement is Waltham’s Grade 625, a 17 jewel precision tool with screw in chantons holding the jewels that you would only find today in very high end watch.  It is beautifully decorated, especially the regulator – this design that looks like a star is nothing to do with the case name, but it is called a Church 1885 regulator as it was designed by Duane Church in 1885.  Everything is working well.  The dial is good, and the blued Breguet hands are also in nice condition.

This watch will be supplied with a simple presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
