A high specification Christian Dior Riva unisex watch, with a diamond set case and chronograph movement. Model reference D81-101-AGTC.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
This hasn’t been an easy watch to research, but we have found that Watchmaker had an example with the same specification (some have just Dior on the dial), and that had papers saying it was sold in 2008. This watch will have been available around the same time. We found another example that had Dior on the dial and undated papers, but a price sticker on the box of $3,195.
CONDITION
Where most ladies watches are round, simple and small, this is quite large, square and has a chronograph function as well as quick set date. Accordingly the original rubber strap is easily big enough for a gent’s wrist, so this is truly a unisex model. But the main eye catching feature is the 43 diamonds set around the bezel and on the lugs in a seemingly random pattern. The movement is behind the screwed down case back, and is a Swiss quartz unit by ETA, which has 23 jewels. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The case does have signs of being used on it, as well as a scratch on the case back, but we have priced the watch accordingly for that. The rubber strap is lightly used but has been cleaned, and has the original buckle still fitted too. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown, buckle and strap.
This watch will be supplied with the original inner and outer boxes, and our cleaning cloth and Certificate of Authenticity.
